SAMPLE MENU
The menu below is simply an idea of what you could expect on board Good News.
We will request you advise us (by completing our preference sheet), what food you enjoy so we can tailor make your meals to suit your tastes!
Breakfast
Start the day with freshly brewed coffee or tea, followed by cereal, yogurt and fresh seasonal fruit.
Then choose from:
- Scottish lox & bagels garnished with sliced tomato & wafers of red onion
- Welsh rarebit topped with sage and onions
- Crustless seafood quiche
- Eggs blackstone – stacked with crispy grilled bacon
- Fluffy omelet served with a variety of fillings
- French toast, drizzled with maple syrup served with sliced sausages
- B/fast burritos loaded with scrambled eggs, pancetta, caramelized onions & cheese
- Fruit smoothies: you choose the flavor
- Blueberry rum infused pancakes
Lunch
- Warm bacon and blue cheese potato salad served with fresh french bread
- Grilled scallops and prawns in a creamy dill and white wine sauce
- Succulent wine & herb chicken breasts served with a cesar salad & crusty bread rolls
- South African borewors rolls served with a tomato, jalapeño and onion sauce
- Steamed mussel pot smothered with a creamy wine, garlic and mushroom sauce served with a fresh frenchloaf.
- Beef Tacos filled with tomato salsa and red kidney beans
- Roast chicken tower salad served with a marscapone, cranberry and almond topping
Appertizers
- American fig and goat cheese loaf served with a variety of crackers
- Caribbean crab cakes accompanied by local dipping sauces
- Shrimp Cocktail / Remeloude
- Chicken satay’s flavored with peanut butter and a hint of curry
- Rare fillet steak slices marinated in lemon and thyme
- Fresh crudités with a chunky homemade blue cheese dip
- Halloumi skewers with parsley & lemon salsa
- Basil and sundried tomato bruchettas
- Traditional South African Biltong (we will have you begging for more)
Entrées
- Roasted salmon fillets with crushed pecorino and pesto topping served with steamed beans, new potatoes and béarnaise sauce
- Home-style American fillet mignon, grilled to perfection, covered in a rich creamy wine and wild mushroom sauce served with steamed broccoli and parmesan mashed potatoes
- Pan fried halibut cooked in a chardonnay & caper sauce
- Delicious lobster tails grilled in garlic & lemon butter served on a bed of savory rice with Mediterranean vegetables
- Italian chicken cacciatore served on a bed of taglitelle accompanied by a fresh seasonal salad
- Kleftico – Tender lamb shanks prepared in a traditional Greek style served with wild rice and vegetables of the day.
- Mexican pork tenderloin smothered with a tomato and chilli sauce served with roast potatoes and peas and corn
