Hi there, we're Tim and Angela and we look forward to welcoming you aboard the charter sailing yacht Spirit in the beautiful Virgin Islands. We each hold a USCG Masters 50 ton license with auxiliary sail and towing endorsements.
Tim was born in San Antonio, Texas and started sailing at the age of 16 when he bought a canoe to which he soon mounted a sail; since then he has gained extensive experience on motor and sailing vessels, both mono-hulls and catamarans up to 52 feet. In 1995 Tim retired from a career with the United States Air Force, which had taken him to Turkey, Greece, England, Sicily and various locations in the United States.
We met while Tim was stationed in Greece in 1982 and were married in January, 1983 in Great Falls, Montana.
Both of us have many years sailing experience on various boats ranging in size from 16 to 52 feet. In the US we have sailed the Florida Keys, California and in Tim’s home state of Texas. We spent 3 fabulous years Island hopping from Key West through the Caribbean to the vibrant spice island of Grenada, spending time in the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, St Martin, Martinique, St. Lucia, and Bequia. In England we enjoyed riverboat cruising in the East Anglia area with its scenic mills and locks. We sailed in Sicily, the Peloponnese in Greece and the ancient Greek islands of the Cyclades, Ionian and Dodecanese. We also sailed over 3000 miles on a voyage from Durban, South Africa to Madagascar, stopping in Mozambique on the return journey.
Since 2008 we have been living the dream, sailing Spirit in the protected waters of the US, Spanish and British Virgin Islands, exploring and enjoying these diverse islands, each with their own unique charm and beauty.
It is our great pleasure to see the joy and wonder on the faces of our guests as they participate in sailing Spirit through these beautiful waters, as they explore pristine beaches, climb to magnificent views, sample the delights of the underwater Caribbean world, teeming with fish of every shape and color; or just lay back in the hammock and watch a huge golden moon rise overhead.
We love to sail, travel and explore interesting locations and look forward to welcoming you aboard Spirit and sharing the incredible beauty of the Caribbean.
