Captain Bob Ward holds a US Coast Guard Masters License and is a certified American Sailing Association Instructor Evaluator. His sailing experience began at the age of ten, a result of his appreciation of the winds of his home state of Kansas, and has taken him all over the world. After attending college in Texas and then a move to NYC, Bob's love of sailing continued while he pursued a career in New York as a professional musician, composing music for television, movies and other popular artists.
Sueno Ward was born on the beautiful island of Okinoerabu, Japan, which lies in the same chain of islands as Okinawa. She left the island to study International Tourism in Tokyo, where she gained experience in tourism services in fine hotels and restaurants. Expanding her horizons even further, Sueno moved to New York, where she worked in several fine restaurants, specializing in Asian cuisines.
Bob and Sueno met in New York and together began many sailing and cruising adventures. They have sailed extensively up and down the northeast US coast and then down to the Virgin Islands and throughout the Caribbean. They have also sailed across the Indian Ocean, joining a friend on his circumnavigation, but always coming back to the Virgin Islands, where they both have experience as captain and chef on many charters.
After 20 years of working and eating in many fine NYC restaurants, the Wards have developed an appreciation and love of fine food, wine, and gracious service. They look forward to making your time on Good Medicine as relaxing and enjoyable as you like. Captain Bob might even break out his guitar for you!
