Capt. Daniel Penning is a Dutchman by birth, and he is a highly experienced sailor with a MCA 200 ton Yacht Master license. He is energetic, outgoing, and always wearing a smile. Most recently, Daniel was the captain of a sailing yacht, out of St. Maarten, on which he spent a great deal of time getting to know the Leeward Islands. He has been working on yachts in the Caribbean since 2005, and on Texas Star for year. Daniel started sailing when he was four years old. Previous to his yachting career, Daniel worked as an assistant harbour master, sailing instructor and service coordinator for a mega-yacht electrical systems firm. Daniel has superior hospitality skills and a refreshing curiosity about people and new places.
He has also completed a Business & Leisure Management degree, and a Hotel/Restaurant Management education
Daniel’s personal interests include sailboat racing, water sports, SCUBA diving and traveling.
