Alberto Batani
Captain
Alberto comes to M/Y IMPULSIVE with an impressive background and many memories. Originally from Acapulco Mexico, but of French decent, he was raised in Tahiti. There, he earned a Degree in General Electric Mechanics. During his schooling and traveling, Alberto is proud to say that he now speaks five languages; Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Tahitian. During his 25+ years in the industry, Alberto has seen the seas on the Western Pacific, Mexico, Panama, and all the way around to where he intimately knows the Mediterranean. He holds a Merchant 1500 tons License. Some of the yachts he has worked on include M/Y NIRVANA, M/Y BELLA RENA, and M/Y IVANA. IN his free time, Alberto enjoys spending time with his family in the Czech Republic where his wife and twin daughters reside. He also travels to Tahiti where he owns a Black Pearl farm.
Ortenca Koca
Chief Stewardess – Austrian Citizen – Age 27
Professional Yachting since 2002 ~ Languages: English – German – French – Italian
Ortenca came to yachting from the world of Graphic Design, Art, and Restoration, and therefore has a fine eye for detail. She has worked as a Stewardess on 9 luxury motor yachts up to 50m in length before she joined ’The M/Y Impulsive in May 2009 after over a year onboard the high speed motor yacht ‘World Is Not Enough’.
She has an excellent knowledge of all guest service requirements including silver service and is very familiar with the many local shore side establishments to be found in both France and Italy which will enhance any Mediterranean charter. She has also been eagerly developing and adapting her knowledge during the 2007/2008 winter season in the Seychelles.
Ortenca looks forward to using her gift of speaking 4 different languages to ensure your stay onboard ‘M/Y Impulsive’ is a complete success. Ortenca holds STW95, MCA Deck Rating 3000grt, and Silver Service Certification.
Emanuele Ansalone
Chef – Italian and French Citizen – Age 33
Professional Yachting since 2001 ~ Languages: English – French – Italian – Spanish
Emanuel started working as a professional chef in 1992 in one of the Leading Hotels of the World in Deauville, France. He also holds a Diploma in Hotel Management.
His experience in exclusive private villas, luxury 5 star hotels and Michelin Stared restaurants in France, England, Spain and Italy, led him to the yachting industry in 2001 onboard several charter Yachts including 64m M.Y ‘Lady Lola’.
His cooking style is mostly Mediterranean preferably a fusion of French and Italian cuisine with an emphasis on fresh local grown produce right from the market.
He is looking forward to a good season on board M.Y. Impulsive making your stay a unique culinary experience.
Corin Davoren
2nd Stewardess
Corin comes to M/Y IMPULSIVE from the East Coast of Australia, with an impressive background of 7 years experience in Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Management. Prior to joining the yachting industry Corin completed 3 years of study, accomplishing a Diploma in Hospitality Management and Diploma in Fitness. With extensive experience on many prestigious mega yachts in Turkey, the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the US, she has the positive team player attitude to well suit the crew on
M/Y IMPULSIVE. You will be sure that the service she conveys will go above and beyond the expectations of the guests onboard M/Y IMPULSIVE. During Corin’s free time, you will find her surfing the local waves, scuba diving, snorkeling, reading or visiting the local vineyards in the South of France.
Mikael Karstrom
Tender Driver
With over four years of experience, inclusive of captaining vessels up to 27 meters in the Mediterranean, Michael comes to M/Y IMPULSIVE with a remarkable background in the super yacht charter industry. Not only is Michael fluent in Spanish, Swedish and the English language, he also holds numerous maritime qualifications inclusive of his RYA Yacht master Offshore license and PADI open water certification. During Mikael’s time on board previous vessels, he has established a wide knowledge in mechanics and engineering, making him an important asset on board M/Y IMPULSIVE. His active passion for sports is sure to keep the guests entertained as Michael enthusiastically enjoys teaching wakeboarding, surfing and skiing.
Froylan Reyes Fernandez
Engineer
Froylan (aka Froy) was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. At a young age Froy realized he wanted to utilize his interest in Engine mechanics and need to explore the Atlantic and Adriatic Seas. Froy takes great pride in his work always ensuring your time aboard
M/Y IMPULSIVE will be safe and sound. Froy graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy as Chief Engineer after 4 years of training in Mexico. Froy is an integral and valued member of the team and has now been with the vessel for almost 2 years. When Froy is at home you will find him training performance horses (Reining), going to the gym and spending time with family and friends.
Ivan Nikolov
1st Mate
Ivan began his career working the on some of the largest merchant vessels around today. As 2nd Officer and now qualified Chief Officer after graduating from the navel academy, he has been working his way around the world since 2001. During this time he has gained his unlimited license not to mention a vast and intimate knowledge of many countries around the world. Ivan from Bulgaria has a calm disposition, is fun loving and has a good sense of humor.
