Crew Profiles:
Michael Murphy - Captain
Captain Murphy’s family has always lived on the water. They had part ownership in a house in Key Largo when he was a child, and at that time he got the salt water in his blood. Fishing boats, sport fishing, float trips, canoeing, water skiing, and running around on Lake of the Ozarks was his childhood, and then Michael ended up living in Key Largo. He started running a charter boat out of Islamorada, and still today loves to fish. Diving, hunting, camping, and boating are a major part of his life. He writes articles for yachting newspapers. He has traveled from Europe to Alaska, Panama to the Great Lakes. He has spent 5 seasons sailing around southeast Alaska, and loves nothing better than showing people all of the very special major attractions, as well as the hidden treasure spots he has discovered thru the years.
He has spent 6 winters in the Caribbean in such places as Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Panama, Nicaragua, Bahamas, and nearly all of the Islands. Captain Murphy invites you to join him and his crew aboard Silent World II to have a wonderful trip, and to create some memories of a lifetime.

Tony Gibus - First Officer
Tony Gibus
With 25 years of nautical experience Tony is a huge asset to Silent World II. For 16 years he has held a USCG Captain's license and brings skills, enthusiasm and professionalism aboard as First Officer. In addition to his onboard knowledge, Tony is a licensed PADI rescue diver and sailing instructor. He loves to windsurf, sail, wakeboard and snorkel. Guests will be as delighted as the rest of the crew are to have Tony aboard.

Engineer - 2 Rotational
Brian Finneran

Chef
Freelance chefs - usually 2 rotationally used (Shawn Semmler and Laurie Carrico)
Shawn Semmler all her life has been an artist. Originally from outside of Chicago she went to Savannah, Georgia to get her degree in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was during this time she formed her appreciation for gourmet cuisine by working in high-end restaurants while in school. She stumbled upon the yachting industry in 2002 in Savannah. She worked fulltime for a couple of years on boats like M/Y Sis W for the Walgreens. However, after a good run she decided freelance was her favorite place to be. She enjoys working on different boats fulfilling new appetites to keep her style fresh. She keeps quite busy in this time with many longstanding clients, some whom she has worked with consistently over the past four years. She is currently into her second year freelancing with Captain Michael Murphy and the crew of Silent World II. She really enjoys photography, scuba diving and hiking during her time out of the galley. So, yachting couldn’t be more perfect her and we don’t think she is leaving anytime soon.

Chief Stewardess - Monica Mesa
Monica was born in Colombia. She started her boating carrier in Costa Rica at the Marina Los Suenos. During that time she worked on the Silent World II under the previous ownership as the Kakela in Costa Rica. She enjoyed traveling, and started looking at other ways to be able to travel, and enjoy life. Before becoming part of our team on the Silent World II, she also worked on various yachts out of the Los Suenos Marina. She enjoys art, camping, horseback riding, bicycling, dancing and traveling. She looks forward to the adventures & new places visited on board the Silent World II.
