Crew Profiles: Captain - William Rapp
Will grew up in Millville, a small town in southern New Jersey. He graduated from Miami University in Ohio with a History degree in 2006. Then chose Educational Counseling at Wilmington University, Delaware for his Masters degree which included an internship at high school level. Upon completion, he decided to put guidance counselling on hold and head for the Caribbean.
In earlier years, with his parents and later with friends, he visited Antigua, Nevis, St. John, St. Vincent, St. Thomas, Grand Turk, Bequia, Provo and many more! His favourite location of all was, of course, the BVI and the lure more than anything was sailing. Joining Endless Summer II as first mate was simply following his dream but now, with many charters and thousands of sea miles to his credit, he has graduated to the Captain's position.
Will is so enthusiastic about life, always ready to take on new challenges in an instant. Whether they be academic or hands on, he excels with true ability. Through high school and college years, he has painted houses, tendered bar (yes, he graduated with a certificate in mixology from the American Bartenders) and even worked door to door selling for Verizon - worst job, best money!
Will is third generation American with strong ties to his Mediterranean heritage especially evident in his passion for cooking all things Italian. He loves spending time in the kitchen and prefers to create rather than follow recipes - unless of course they're family recipes!
Relax and listen to Will strum a tune on his guitar as the sun sets in the west and maybe pick up the yacht's guitar and join in! Simply share his worldly experience and youthful exuberance as you discover our beautiful Virgin Islands.
Chef - Susanna Rice
Born in England, a cruise on a 90' luxury yacht in the Med and a transatlantic flight to her new home in Tortola - all before she was six weeks old! Susanna considers herself privileged to be a true island girl. She knows how to windsurf, wakeboard, snorkel, S.C.U.B.A. dive and lime with her island friends.
Her first school was a converted local house on the Tortola ridge road that sported a menagerie of wild and semi domestic animals in the yard and adjoining grounds. As the school grew, it moved to a converted supermarket where the kids, wearing their full school uniforms, dreamed of "air conditioning" during the hot summer days.
At age 16, she transferred to a small log cabin high school located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Two former Endless Summer II crew, Robin and Heather Craigen, hosted her in their home. She learned a lot about their Moving Mountains chalet business and of course she discovered a new found love for snow and winter activities.
After high school, she moved to Gunnison CO and graduated from Western State College in Ski and Resort Management, doing her internship at the nearby Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
She is now back in the islands and loving the warm weather, although she does miss making snow angels! For as long as she can remember she has been involved in the family business, interacting with clients from many parts of the world – yachting and hospitality flow in her blood! Although she is not formally trained, Susanna has a passion for cooking. She has sailed as stewardess on countless cruises in past years during school breaks, watching and learning from her mother; from Heather and many other Endless Summer chefs over the years. Now she's running her own galley! She loves discovering new dishes and recipes from different ethnicities and takes pride in offering meals that reflect her world travels.
Susanna enjoys reading, dancing, snowboarding, camping and S.C.U.B.A diving. At the early age of 12 she gained her first diving certification. She has never lost her passion for swimming with the fish - whether its snorkelling or tank diving. She is very much a people person who loves to smile and make new friends.
You will discover that Susanna is way more than a chef and tour guide. Through her lifelong familiarity with Endless Summer and her intimate knowledge of these beautiful islands, she will take you on a journey of discovery that will make this vacation so very special. | Will Rapp
