Bob is your Captain and Maggie the First Mate and Chef.
We are lifelong sailors, circumnavigators and USCG Master
Captains with more than 100,000 combined sailing miles
offshore and inshore, cruising and racing. Born and raised in Rhode Island, we make our stateside home in Portland, Maine, where we actively race and cruise in our C&C 35’ sloop. Maine is also where we enjoyed successful corporate careers and raised two sons. When the boys flew the nest for college, we left land for a career in shorts and bare feet.
In 2009, we embarked on an 18-month 26,500-mile adventure circumnavigating the globe aboard a 60’ sloop. This life-changing voyage took us through the Panama Canal, across the South Pacific to Australia, through the turbulent Indian Ocean, around the Cape of Good Hope, across the Atlantic to Brazil and finally back home to the Caribbean. We made many new friends while enjoying their cultures, cuisines and music on more than 50 islands in 14 countries.
Personal and Professional:
• Bob enjoyed a 20-Year Career with IBM and spent 10 years as VP of Marketing & Sales for a
global knowledge services company. Maggie spent 25 years in Corporate Communications and
graphic design and was a newspaper editor.
• Maggie loves riding horses. Bob is a competitive tennis player. We both enjoy many outdoor
activities including skiing, hiking, snorkeling and fishing. Kite surfing is our next active pursuit.
• Bob’s other interests include photography, boat and home renovation, woodworking, gardening
and cooking. Maggie loves cooking & baking, photography, writing, computing and pop
culture. She speaks some French and is learning Spanish (Bob too).
• Listening to, and making music is a big part of our lives. Bob plays guitar and we both enjoy
any opportunity for a group sing-a-long.
