GUESTS COMMENTS
Arrive as guests, leave as friends
…our friends often write and let us know just how much their vacation meant to them, and we treasure these letters. One guest noted "It was evident to us that Wayne and Barbara have found their calling and are fulfilling it aboard Flame".

Our friends have generously allowed us to share their thoughts here. We are especially grateful to the erstwhile poets that expressed their delight in rhyme! We hope we have a chance to have you aboard and let the islands and Flame work their magic on you!

Thank you for a vacation of a lifetime. I loved every minute of it.

March 2005

When we arrived the yacht was immaculately clean, tastefully presented and decorated, and ready to board at the agreed upon time.  The boat was kept clean during the charter, and all the advertized equipment was on board and in good condition.  Captain Wayne was wonderful!  We were free to choose every day's activities as we wanted, and the food was gourmet - superbly prepared, exceptionally presented, of superb quality and wonderfully varied.  Barb was GREAT!  Actually, I was not expecting such wonderful accommodations - Blew up away!

Captain Wayne and Barbara seem to have found the keys to making a motor yacht vacation an experience of a lifetime. They welcomed us warmly and continued to treat us as friends and guests simultaneously during the entire voyage.

They have equipped FLAME in the most thoughtful way. One of the little things is a big basket on the aft deck into which everyone's incidental items are placed when they have been misplaced. Looking for your sunglasses? Look in the basket. Can't find your paperback? Look in the basket. Lost track of your camera? Look in the basket. It may seem like a little thing, but we loved it. I'm stealing the idea for our summer house.

We have been on the water for a week with Captain/Chef couples who had difficulty managing the Owner/Guest relationship. Barbara and Wayne got it exactly right. They were friendly and happy to visit with us and share their experiences, but they also gave our group just the right amount of "alone" time. We really enjoyed the early morning coffee on the aft deck.

FLAME is a gracious boat and Barbara, Wayne and Jacob do her proud.

We inspire poetry!

There is a classic yacht, the "Flame",
Who’s captain and chef are game.
Wayne’s an old salt who swims like a fish,
And Barb’s a gourmet who master’s each dish.
With their guests they are patient;
They indulge every whim,
Finding the perfect spot to shop or to swim.
The crew from Vero had a wonderful time,
The best vacation ever, Ruthie opined.
Muffins for breakfast, painkillers at noon,
Our trip is over much too soon.
(oops, over the side goes a spoon!)
We’ll miss Wayne and Barbara and Joshua their cat,
Who’ll make up our beds and fold napkins for dinner?
We all agree, our trip’s been a winner!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for making our vacation so perfect. Katharine, Isabel and I will be talking about the trip for the next year (until we can get back aboard Flame).

Flame is beautiful, comfortable, classic and everything we could have wanted in a charter boat. The beds were comfortable, the covered aft deck was perfect for getting out of the afternoon sun while still being able to be outside, and the size was just right for mixing comfort with a true boating experience.

Wayne, you knowledge of 'just where to go' to get that perfect secluded beach with great digging sand (what more could a three year old want) was amazing. Your ability to steer us to destinations without pressuring us to move faster than we needed to, gave us the perfect mix of change without any sense of needing to rush - just what we wanted.

And Barbara, we're still recovering from all of the amazing food! Three amazing gourmet meals, plus afternoon snack. We were spoiled beyond belief!

Anyway, what it all comes down to, is a huge "THANK YOU" from the three of us. You took our family into your home and made all of us (especially three year old Isabel) feel welcome, relaxed and exceedingly well cared for.

Needless to say...."We'll be back!"

Dear Captain and Tenille:
Michelle and I had to write to you to thank you for out outstanding and memorable holiday aboard the Flame.  As you know, both Michelle and I lead very busy and hectic business lives.  But our week with you allowed us to recharge our batteries.

Thanks again for taking care of every detail.  We would recommend this trip to anyone seeking a week of relaxation in paradise.  We will be scheduling our next trip with you in the very near future.

Our warmest regards to both of you.

First Night Home

The airplane food was not up to Barbara's standards. We missed the bagpipe serenade last night. I had to wear flannel pajamas to bed. My bed did not rock me to sleep last night.  I tried to get David to do it, but it just wasn't the same-no, not that kind of rocking!!! I had to stumble into the kitchen this morning and assemble the coffee pot all by myself!!! I don't know who my cat is anymore- I said to her this morning, "Come here sweet boy"-Midnight is a girl. AND, I guess my family will expect me to cook tonight! ARRRRRRRR!!!! It's a cold, cruel world!

Just wanted to drop you a note and try to tell you how much we enjoyed our week with you guys and the Flame. . Without sounding too corny, you two provide a wonderful service for people and you do your job very well!!

Well, guess I better sign off.   Give Josh a kiss from all of us.

Love,

Melinda

Dear Captain Wayne and Barbara,

We just arrived home, unpacked, did our chores, and wanted to write to you as soon as possible to tell you what a wonderful time we had on Flame. The ambiance, food, personal service and attention that we received could not have been better. You are both such wonderful hosts and definitely made us feel that the Flame was our own home. Barbara, if the saying is true that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, then you are certainly my first love. Wayne, you could not have been more accommodating with whatever we wanted to do and we will always remember with a smile the many ways that you entertained us.

As you know, last year we bare boated and after our experience this year, we will never bare boat again. Leslie and I discussed the entire trip and want you to know that there was absolutely nothing that either of you could improved on.

Again, thank you for a fantastic vacation and we look forward to seeing you again in the near future. Please send our love to Jacob.

Fondly,
Leslie & Sandy Zweben
