| CREW PROFILES | | | Captain: George Cahusac | Nationality: British | | Number of Crew: 2 | | Crew Profiles: George & Hannah Cahusac
George and Hannah Cahusac, your Captain and Chef aboard Ma Ha, are an infectiously enthusiastic and fun couple whose wealth of experience will ensure your vacation will be unforgettable. They are a young, newly wed couple who take great pride in creating your perfect vacation- be it a thrill-seeking, action-packed whirlwind adventure or gliding serene and peaceful around all the beautiful bays and beaches the islands have to offer.
George started his relationship with the water in London, sailing and kayaking on the river Thames as a child. Aged 17 he left and set off on a life long adventure, which has seen him sail every Ocean and some of the most beautiful and remote corners of the globe. Starting by teaching water sports on beaches around the Mediterranean he gained broad knowledge within the industry. He then moved on to yachts and worked on deliveries and grafted on the day work circuit before getting qualified as a captain. Since then he has worked on everything from hand crafted mahogany motor cruisers to some of the fastest racing yachts in the world. His appetite for adventure and love for his work has seen him as a dive master on the Great Barrier Reef, cowboy in the Australian outback, ski instructor in the Alps, pearl diving in Tahiti and sailing all over the world. After meeting Hannah he has experienced an epiphany unwanted by most hedonistic sailors! First came love, then came marriage and then the desire to nest and find a place to call home. And they spent the next years in the BVI doing just that.
Hannah grew up on a smallholding in rural South England with a love of cooking with the seasons using the freshest produce. After finishing school she worked as a chef in the village pub to save enough money to go traveling. Visiting New Zealand, Fuji, Singapore and India she began to expand her culinary knowledge and skill, persuading people to relinquish secret family recipes along the way! George and her arrived in New Zealand on the same day- met at the airport and spent every moment of the next three months together! They returned to England and Hannah worked at The Yacht Catering Company providing food for the sailing elite of the UK racing world. She then moved onto the water as chef on a 92ft 1961 wooden powerboat on the south coast of England before moving to the BVI where she chartered with George for 2 years. She then decided to take her skills to the next level so moved back to London where she was accepted to do a Diploma in Food and Wine at the prestigious Leiths School. While studying she worked at the River Café in west London and after completing the course worked at the 3 Michelin starred Fat Duck, which has been awarded the World’s Best Restaurant. She finally persuaded him to tie the knot and they married in October 2008.

Seth & Mindy Taylor, Oregon
‘Thank you is such a trite grouping of letters but the words, in this case, are deeply heartfelt yet still so inadequate. Everything we thought, hoped & desired for this trip paled in comparison to this incredible journey- we love you! Sam & Rosanne Wike, Boston
‘What a delight you both are! Your love of life, patience and professionalism mean together you are a formidable team. Loved being with you and getting to know you both.’
Jan Robinson, St. Thomas
‘I came on this trip stressed, over worked & without having relaxed in months… I’m leaving a free spirit. Thank you for opening my mind, eyes and heart to life on the ocean and, more importantly, to what life is supposed to be about.’ Tommy Monroe, New York
