Captain: Scot Rosburg American
Captain Scot gave up ski boats, hobie cats and Civil Engineering for the adventure of the Virgin Islands and 40’ sailboats back in 1982. Many years, experiences, exams and licenses later, found him as First Officer on large motor yachts in the Mediterranean, Caribbean and New England. Scot will be proud to tell that his favorite career move was in 1992 and it took him from Mate to Captain/Engineer of a 100’ Broward which he proudly chartered from Guadalupe to Bar Harbor. Scot has been a captain ever since and is happy to welcome you aboard the “Monaliza” with a handpicked international crew of seven. And his goal, find the coolest place in the world where no one can spell I-95 and retire there!
Chef: David Rosov American
David is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in New York with additional studies in the South of France. He comes to the Monaliza from the world of Private Chefs and his favorite position was that of Chef to Barron Hilton for almost four years. Yes, that would be Paris Hilton’s grandfather.
David was born in Puerto Rico and raised in St. Thomas, USVI and has extensive boating and sailing experience, so continuing his career in the yachting industry was a natural progression. He is an experienced world class chef and accomplished culinary arts professional.
David just loves cooking, an occasional Cuban cigar and of course, a glass of fine wine. He is very excited to begin his adventures on the high seas and show off his culinary talent to his guests aboard M/Y Monaliza!
Stewardess/Deckhand: Melanie Waddell Canadian
Melanie was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. Her first “yacht” was a Disney cruise ship where she was a Children’s Programmer for 2 ˝ years.
She has worked in the luxury yacht industry on such yachts as Northern Star, Argyll and Apoise cruising the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas, Florida and New England.
Melanie splits her duties between the interior and the exterior of the yacht so she can do just about anything! She looks forward to showing the guests of Monaliza a fabulous experience whether alfresco dining or playing on the water toys.
