Jean-François has been sailing since his tender childhood.
Born in North of Brittany in France, his sea playground has been huge and deeply explored!
He has sailed on various family boats, crossing the Channel so often to see his English neighbours or heading south to visit the Spanish ones.
He has fully enjoyed the thousands islands & coves of the whole Atlantic coast.
Naturally when growing, Jean-François came to the racing entertainment and has multiplied experiences in this field.
During more than 7 years he was used to follow the chilly winter trainings in Pornichet and became also a sailing instructor for the young and fresh newcomer sailors.
Found of this seaman atmosphere, he has constantly tried to improve his knowledge and experience of the sea; he has participated 7 times to the Cruise race “la Barquera”, in 2001 joined “la Grande Largue Presse Ocean”, in 2002 gamed for the FIREMAN Cup and for the “SPI Ouest France”, all are famous races organized along the French coasts.
He made 4 transatlantic crossings including one in solo.
After 2 summer seasons of charter in the Mediterranean Sea, more specifically around Corsica & Greece, he decided in 2004 to change deeply his life and to sail all the year around into sunny waters! He set sail for the Caribbean where he met his wife – Dany PRATESI. They have settled their lives in Martinique since this time and never get back.
Working together as a team on several charter boats, mostly catamarans type Lagoon 570, Bahia 46 and Privilege 585 “MATIRA” & “TIPUTA”, they are now very proud to take over the “MOTU”.
Extremely professionals and entirely dedicated to their guests. Jean-François & Dany are fully service orientated.
Very gentle and generous, they are that kind of persons who really enjoyed meeting new people.
They will have a special care to show them what they really adore; the Caribbean life & its beautiful surrounding from the sea.

Dany has a University diploma in geography & sciences and has also acquired the competencies to become specialized educator for children.
She started to work in France in various field including the care of mental handicapped into specialized social centres and the educational care of orphans.
She has performed this job heavy to carry for such a young woman with brio thanks to her high sense of human relationship but also thanks to an extraordinary energy and will.
Hard worker, she never stops moving forward.
Her father’s Italian origins deeply anchored in her heart have never been completely swallowed by the French side of her mother!
These 2 faces combined, gave her a natural gifted hand for fresh and tasty cuisine!
What started to be a hobby became soon a real job.
She started to work as Hostess/Chef on yachts in 1998, she never stopped from there.
Extremely appreciated by all the crew she worked with for her constant good mood, kindness and professionals skills, she is now working exclusively from the past years with the captain she prefers and who became her husband: Jean-François.
She has worked on numerous crewed yacht charters including Bonavista, Privilege 65, Chrysalis, Matira & Tiputa, Privilege 585 and now MOTU.
With Jean-François they have cruised throughout all the Caribbean from the Virgin Islands to the coast of Venezuela, sharing together their passion of the sea.
