Bijan Kalantari began sailing in the early 70’s and received his 100 ton USCG license in 1987.
A New Yorker since the late 1950’s, he has owned a number of boats over the years and his sailing experiences have taken him through much of the Eastern Seaboard from Virginia to Nova Scotia and the major points in between.
In the mid eighties he had his previous boat, Anita Kay, in the Bahamas for 2 years, and covered most of the Bahamian Islands north of Georgetown.
He did his first New York Bermuda sail in 1992, and then engaged in summer charters in the Northeast for 9 years, before deciding to extend his charter experiences to cover the winter months in the virgin Islands, and beyond. This migratory pattern became a habitual occurrence until the spring of 2008, when he sailed Anahita to the Med, and covered the French Riviera, most of Corsica, the Sorrento Peninsula, and the Aeolian Islands, before sailing back to the Caribbean. He repeated his transatlantic sail in the spring of this year, (2009), and is currently sailing in Croatia.
Bijan has been through a number of Careers, the first of which was classical ballet that earned him performances with the Metropolitan and the New York City Opera Ballets. Later, together with his wife he opened , (Lothar’s), stores for the French high fashion sportswear company at
Fifth Avenue in New York, and on North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.
In 1975 he established his own real estate and development company in Manhattan, and continued as a developer and builder until the mid 90’s.
Roseanne Morin
Soon after completing her BA degree in college, Roseanne acquired her early cooking skills, at their family owed restaurant in Ontario, where she continued to work as a chef.
Later in life, her deep rooted love for the sea and outdoor activities brought her in contact with the world of yachting.
In the past 5 years she has worked for charter companies like, the Moorings, Sun Sail, and Foot Loose, on their crewed yachts, in the in Virgin Islands.
She has also been the chef on a number of private charter yachts such as Moon Light II, Emily Morgan, Sayang, Pirates Lady, and Shenemere.
On December of 2008 she joined Anahita as a chef and crew, and she has continued to be on board , through the Virgin Islands, Antigua, the Grenadines, Trinidad, the Atlantic Ocean, the Med and the Adriatic Sea, where Anahita is presently located this summer, ( 2009).
