| CREW PROFILES | | | Captain: Bob White | Nationality: USA | | Number of Crew: 1 | | Crew Profiles: Captain Bob White
Your Captain, Bob White has been sailing since the age of twelve when he first learned to crew on racing dinghies with his father, now a retired US Air Force Colonel, at the helm. He has lived and sailed in many interesting locations including England, Alaska, Chesapeake Bay, Caribbean, Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama and his adopted home state of Texas. He has booked passage on a tramp steamer in the Med, kayaked amongst whales and glaciers in Alaska, fly fished the mountain rivers of Colorado, Arkansas and Texas and rafted down the Rio Grande in New Mexico. Trained at the Outward Bound Sea School in Moray Firth, Scotland, Bob has sailed more boats than he can remember including a 131 foot three-masted barque in the North Sea, a 71 foot solid mahogany yawl around the Isle of Wight, a folk boat in the Chesapeake, delivered yachts in the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean and now is thrilled to share the joys of a sailing life with others.
For the past two years Bob has served as Captain of Catalyst, a very successful and popular charter catamaran. “Running a large charter yacht, taking six people out at a time, has been great, but with Gypsy Queen I truly look forward to a more intimate sailing experience with guests. I thrive on personal interaction; It’s the most fun part of what I do.”
A sailor, singer/musician, writer, first class cook and proud grandfather of two great kids, Capt. Bob is an easy going, patient team leader who thrives on bringing you the very best sailing experience aboard one of the most beautiful yachts in the Islands, and he may just play you a tune one moonlit night….if you ask!
