Jamie has never been far away from the ocean. A native of Vancouver, BC, this 27 year old Canadian grew up vacationing with his family around the Puget Sound and its many islands.
From an early age he developed a love for the sea and soon became a proficient salmon and halibut fisherman. This experience served him well at an exclusive sport fishing resort in the Queen Charlotte Islands where he took a summer job as a fishing guide. He soon progressed to the position of mate on the resort’s floating restaurant, a 150’ converted minesweeper. Following high school graduation, Jamie decided to defer his college attendance for a year and go travelling. He joined a Bahai dance group and toured Fiji, the Cook Islands and Hawaii. The group spent their time living with villagers in remote communities where they learned to become self-sufficient
by catching and growing their own food. When the group returned to Canada, Jamie stayed on in Hawaii, where he soon developed a passion for surfing.
In 1997, Jamie became the first international student to enroll full time at the newly opened H.L.S Community College in Tortola where he studied marine biology. He fell in love with the BVI. Racing aboard the college sailboat in Foxy's renowned Wooden Boat Regatta was his first real island sailing experience. After completion of his studies back home in Canada, he returned to Tortola at the end of 1999 to join Endless Summer II as first mate. He soon realized that the charter industry was a perfect career for him and, in the summer of 2002, he successfully completed the Royal Yachting Association Yacht Master’s Certificate in the UK.
Since then, Jamie has been captain of Endless Summer II and discovering the BVI with him is a real delight. He loves the local culture and island life - everyone knows Jamie! With his cheerful and outgoing personality, he is the perfect vacation companion. Jamie is a PADI certified diver who has a detailed knowledge of the very best snorkelling locations in the BVI. Whether he is teaching water sports, sailing or creating amazing tropical cocktails for Happy Hour, Jamie always has a quiet friendly
confidence that seems to make everything more pleasurable. He speaks fluent French and is an accomplished pianist who enjoys music of all kinds. In recent years he has travelled extensively in Israel and Europe and is now looking forward to visiting South America.

British
Roz was born into a sailing family whose every vacation was spent cruising the waters of southern England and France aboard their classic wooden yawl. In the late seventies, Roz and her husband, Barry, turned their backs on the suburban life, bought a 32’ yacht and embarked on an extended cruise to the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic to the West Indies. They explored the many islands from Trinidad to Antigua, before being offered
jobs on a crewed charter yacht in St Lucia. So began a second career.
Although not professionally trained in haute cuisine, Roz has always enjoyed cooking and eating in fine restaurants. Her mother was a very accomplished cook and Roz an attentive pupil. Now, there are few that can match her 25 year career as a charter chef. Not that it has been continuous, because raising a daughter on Tortola was her prime focus for many years. During this time, she managed the shoreside operation of Endless Summer II and other yachts, supervising new cooks and helping to maintain the enviable reputation Endless Summer II enjoys for its good service and fine cuisine. She has been a contributor of recipes to the ‘Ship to Shore’ series of cookbooks and
an inspiration for the cook book ‘Simple Pleasures’ based on the culinary experience aboard Endless Summer II. Roz, who has taken some cordon bleu courses to help with new ideas for menu planning, has developed a wide knowledge of tropical fruits and local vegetables and always tries to impart a Caribbean flavour to her recipes. Roz is also a graduate from Manchester University in Northern England and holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Before leaving England, she worked in the community health service, mainly involved with children. She has many hobbies and interests including bird watching, reading, snorkelling and
has enjoyed travelling throughout Europe, most of the States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Thailand and Peru.
Now that her daughter is a college student in Florida, Roz has traded the office for the galley once again. She and Jamie have been working as a team since early 2003 and their success can be found by the many rave reviews written in the yacht’s visitor book by their very happy guests. | | |
