Kevin Shea, Captain
Kevin was born in Concord, Massachusetts and also lived in Cape Code where he started his yachting career 32 years ago. He moved to Florida at the age of 18 and worked on large motor yachts in the U.S., Bahamas, Caribbean and Mediterranean Sea. He has made more than 17 trans-Atlantic crossings during this time and worked on both private and charter yachts in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. For the past 22 years Kevin has lived in the South of France and knows the Mediterranean extremely well. He has managed multi-national yacht crew with great success over the years ensuring a happy environment for all those on board. Kevin is married and has three children in France.
Harry Delistoyanov, Engineer
Harry was born in Bulgaria and has been trained in jet ski and Yamaha outboard repairs/maintenance and marine engineering. He has vast knowledge of all the systems found on a modern yacht and over the last three years has proven to be a tremendous asset to the program. He has worked in the U.S., Bahamas, Caribbean and Mediterranean. Harry’s interests extend to computers, blue water fishing, spear fishing and physical fitness. He also speaks several languages.
Philip Scofield, First mate
Phil is an outgoing and energetic person. He was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand where he worked and competed on Ocean sailing yachts in the Southern Ocean. Five years ago he sailed to the Mediterranean where he worked on motor yachts in France, Italy and Spain. He has since sailed to the Caribbean and raced on classic sailing yachts. Phil joined PERSEVERANCE II in Italy this past summer and we are delighted to have him with us for the Caribbean season. His skill and experience both on private and charter yachts make him a welcome addition to the crew.
Cristina Carrido, Chief Stewardess
Cristina was born in one of the main centers of yachting, Mallorca, Spain. For the past 5 years she has been working on sailing and motor yachts for private Owners and charters. Cristina is a caring person with a friendly personality that loves making an enjoyable atmosphere for the guests on board.
Mariyana Gerdzhikova, Second stewardess
Mariyana was born in Bulgaria and continues her studies in the field of economics there. In her time off at university, she works aboard PERSEVERANCE II as a valuable asset to the team. Her experience and adventurous spirit make her a pleasure to be around.
Keith O’Dell, Chef
Chef Keith O’Dell hails from the Catskill Mountain region of New York State. As one of Americas’ most innovative and talented young chefs he breaks the mold of traditional old world cuisine with creative, bold and delicious food. He understands what it means for a dish and a dining experience to be balanced. Earlier in his career he worked for the Rockefeller family at their exclusive fly- fishing bed and breakfast, The Beaverkill Valley Inn. During the off-season he trained in Manhattan at such fine dining restaurants as Patron and Butterfield 81 with Chefs Geoffrey Zacharian and Tom Valenti. After graduating from Culinary School, Keith moved to La Jolla, California where he worked as Chef de cuisine at La Valencia Hotel. This 4 star Preferred Hotel became an exciting learning environment. The Sky Room on the 10th floor was Keith’s baby. It featured a Nouveau French, American-Asian fusion menu. Working with Executive Chef Luke Patterson, Keith’s responsibilities included banquets, pastry, menu orchestration, and wine pairing dinners hosted by California’s renowned wineries. Among them, Cakebread Cellars, Flora Springs, Robert Mondavi, The Hess Collection and Chalone. Keith has been the Chef aboard Perseverance II for 3 years. The best way to describe his style of cuisine would be ‘Global Fusion’. Keith welcomes guest requests and will do his best to ensure that their dining experience surpasses all expectations.
