| CREW PROFILES | | | Captain: Taylor Lawson | Nationality: USA | | Number of Crew: 4 | | Crew Profiles: Captain Taylor C. Lawson American
Taylor has been working as a professional captain since 1997 when he obtained his first United States Coast Guard license in San Francisco, California. His first professional captain's position was running a 68' ocean-racer, charter sailing boat out of Monterey Bay, California.
A native of Annapolis, Maryland, he spent his childhood boating with his family from the age of seven. Before making his way to California and into the realm of professional yachting, he spent time working in Corporate America in the shipping business. He moved to Houston, TX where he opened another successful branch for the company. The sailing offered in Texas was not enough to answer the call of the ocean so he moved to Monterey, California. While racing boats in Monterey Bay, he met an entrepreneur who encouraged him to get a captain's license and thereafter, run a local sailing charter boat. The fantastic charter season closed out and Taylor returned to the Caribbean where he had spent his post high-school summer as a first-mate on a 72' charter boat.
Shortly after arriving and completing his Dive Master apprenticeship in St. Thomas, he took a position running a very busy sailing, dive-charter boat based in the Virgin Islands. Always fascinated by the large motor yachts, he upgraded his engineering skills, safety credentials and license in Fort Lauderdale in order to make the step from sail to power. He worked as Boson and Mate on several other large yachts before landing his first commission as a motor yacht captain which he held for 6 years.
Now on motor yacht da Bubba, he looks forward to showing guests an insiders view of some of the most exciting, enjoyable and relaxing charter destinations available!
Mate Juan Paillot Argentinean
Juan Paillot was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in Mammoth Lakes, California. After high school, he attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where he discovered his passion for all ocean sports, particularly sailing and surfing. After receiving his Business Degree, he traveled for almost a year in Europe before returning home to Santa Barbara where he immersed himself in the yachting community. It was only a matter of time before Juan made the move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to pursue a professional career in yachting.
Juan brings to da Bubba his positive attitude, strong work ethic and hospitality background. He is very excited about joining the crew and looks forward to participating in the upcoming charters.
