Captain John Spenlinhauer
A genial host and knowledgeable guide as well as a professional captain, John Spenlinhauer looks forward to welcoming you aboard TIVOLI.
John is a lifelong yachtsman, having first learned to sail as a boy on the waters surrounding Cape Cod. He went on to own a succession of classic sailboats, including a beautiful 71-foot wooden Sangermani yawl which he captained many times from Maine to the Caribbean and back.
When the time came to plan for even more extended, long-distance cruising, he decided to have an oceangoing expedition motor yacht built. The luxurious and sea-kindly TIVOLI is the result of his determination to create a vessel that is ideal both for making offshore passages and for visiting the harbors of the world in complete comfort.
John is not only a fully qualified captain – he holds a U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License – he also has exceptional experience in cruising the entire Caribbean, the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, and the U.S. East Coast.
Having been involved in yacht chartering for three decades, he has spent many years exploring the very best places to cruise and can take you to delightful little-known anchorages as well as all of the must-visit destinations. He also knows his way around ashore, and will be happy to tell you about special out-of-the-way places when you are planning your sightseeing.
A graduate of Boston College, John enjoyed a successful career in the printing industry and for many years owned, with his brother, one of the largest web offset printers in the U.S.
John stands ready to do everything he can to see that your cruise aboard TIVOLI is one of your most memorable vacations. It will be his distinct pleasure to share with you his enthusiasm for traveling by sea and the always-fresh excitement of discovering new ports of call.
Co-Captain Trevor Marston
Twenty-five years after retiring from the British Royal Navy, Trevor John Marston has spent 6 years sailing, racing and chartering in the private yacht industry. He has 3 Trans –Atlantic crossings under his belt as well as skippering several sail and power yachts for private owners and charter guests.
He loves to show guests his favorite anchorages, white sandy beaches and great snorkeling sights.
Chef Judith A. Vecchitto
Judy has worked in the charter boat industry for 7 years on several sail and power boats. She stated cooking when she was very young and loved to come up with new and different recipes for her family always with positive results.
She is committed to pleasing the charter guests and will cook any manner of dishes the guests prefer. Her favorite dishes to cook are Italian and French cuisine and is always open to suggestions from her guests.
