Captain: Jose (Pepe) Ribes
Pepe was born in Alicante. He has been sailing since he was 10 years old, and has 10 years experience of working on board yachts giving him a great knowledge of the ports and anchorages of the Mediterranean. He studied at the Nautical School of Alicante and is also qualified as an engineer. Pepe has been with Far Niente since her launch and was also involved in the final 6 months of her build giving him a really thorough knowledge of the yacht.
Spanish is Pepe’s mother tongue but he also speaks fluent French and a little English. In his spare time he enjoys playing chess, basketball, cycling, and swimming.
Deck hand: Rodrigo (Nix) Gavilanez Pugachy
Nix is originally from Equador. With Far Niente for almost a year he is a valued member of the crew and an asset to the boat. His mother tongue is Spanish. Nix enjoys football and water sports in his spare time.
Chef: Montse Pugés Bassols
Montse is from Barcelona, Spain. Cooking has been always a tradition in her family and it was this interest, coupled with her experience in tourism and hospitality, and her knowledge of languages that led her to pursue a career in the yachting industry.
Montse has been working as a chef for 21 years and on yachts since 2004. Prior to becoming a chef she worked on a farm where she learned how to grow and to transform food according to the seasons. As a result she enjoys preparing fresh, seasonal dishes, especially with a Mediterranean influence. Wherever possible Montse spends time exploring the local markets and uses fresh, regional ingredients to create her dishes. Whilst she has a lot of interesting ideas of her own she is always happy to tailor the menu to perfectly suit her clients every culinary desire!
Stewardess: Fiorella Gaeta Mellogno
Fiorella comes from Italy but studied in Uruguay. She speaks Italian, Spanish, and English. Fiorella is qualified in massage therapy and during the past two years has worked in various hotels in Majorca and Spain as a masseuse as well as working on a number of motor yachts as a stewardess/deckhand. Combining this experience with her strong language skills we are proud to introduce Fiorella to Far Niente as the stewardess where she will greet you with a welcoming smile. In her spare time Fiorella enjoys photography and pottery. |
