His warm smile and soft demeanor welcomes you and having worked in charter and private yachting, Captain Tucker’s experience is vast. He has commanded many different yachts ranging from 65’ to 138’. His love of the ocean started as a young boy and has continued throughout his life. Starting out as a deckhand he progressed rapidly up the ladder to his first command and now holds a 1600-ton USCG masters license as well as the British equivalent. Prior to his yachting days, Captain Tucker was in charge of several live aboard SCUBA diving vessels in the South Pacific, Central America, Caribbean and the Bahamas. A couple of the charter yachts he has captained are Hoosier Lady & Calex, covering Nova Scotia to St Lucia, and Legacy, which was based in Alaska. Having graduated from one of the top business schools in the East he holds degrees in accounting and computer science. But Captain Tucker isn’t just all business; he also is a MSDT (master scuba diver trainer) and is an underwater videographer. He is also trained in silver service, and knows how to deliver the special details that will make your charter memorable.
Mate - Debbey Ryan
Debbey has worked in many capacities while on yachts, from Stewardess to Captain and finally Chef. Debbey holds a USCG 500 ton masters license, is a MSDT (master scuba diver trainer) as well as a published underwater photographer. She has a degree in Culinary Arts, graduating Summa Cum Laude and has trained under some renowned chefs. With a big smile on her face you’ll find Debbey doing whatever it takes to make Golden Boy II shine. Having been married for over 2 decades ensures that Captain John & Captain Debbey’s teamwork in all aspects of yachting has been well practiced. Before heading out to sea Debbey worked in the travel industry for 14 years, so seeing that people have a good time is second nature. Debbey’s idea of having fun is trying anything new and/or different, whether it be hiking a rainforest or trying a new cuisine.
Engineer - John Frank Bibbey (South African)
Born and raised on a farm in the Eastern Free State of South Africa. He attended the University of the Free State studying Tourism. John-Frank then went to the UK for two years and began working as a carpenter whilst traveling. He started in the yachting industry over two years ago and enjoy it tremendously. He is not only experience on deck but with engineering as well. John-Frank is outgoing, enjoys new challenges, loves the outdoors and would make every guest's experience onboard Mariah II memorable.
Chief Stewardess - Susanne Edmunds (Canadian)
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, she has always had a great love for the ocean and the outdoors. At a young age, Susanne set out to explore what this world has to offer. She has worked for several cruise lines which has enabled her to visit far off destinations and experience new cultures. Since Susanne has made the transition from luxury cruise ships to yachting she has enjoyed every moment. Her travels prior to Mariah II have taken her through Central America, Mexico and the U.S. Susanne looks forward to extending a warm welcome onboard Mariah II.
Chef - Tracy Ireland
Tracy Ireland
With over 20 years experience as a chef on yachts from 100’ – 155’, in restaurants, catering to the film industry of Vancouver, and as the Chef to owners of private estates, Tracy always astounds guests with her culinary expertise. Her specialties include Italian cuisine, as a result of spending extensive time working and studying cooking in Italy, Pacific Rim Asian as well as baking and plated desserts.
Tracy earned a Diploma de L’ecole du Moulin where she studied in France. Her skills continued to expand with further education in Nutrition, Food Writing and Advanced Sauce Making through the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley and in Italy at the Toscana Saporita Cooking School.
With plenty of fabulous references from Captains and crew who have enjoyed working with Tracy and eating the delicacies she creates, guests are certain to feel spoiled while aboard Golden Boy II.
