Hello and welcome, at this point you may be looking at Missy B II for a possible vacation now or in the future. And you may have some questions about the Captain and crew. The following pages will give you the captain and crew’s background information and their positions onboard the motor yacht Missy B II.
Hope to see you soon!
Captain Douglas Meier
My Name is Douglas Meier and as Captain I run the Missy B and her crew of 5. Since I started onboard in 2005 I have completed over 60 owner and charter trips or cruises. I have operated Missy B II in the Caribbean, Bahamas, the Gulf of Mexico, and waters from Key West to New England. Most of my formal training comes from my time in the U.S. Coast Guard where I was running Search and rescue boats and serving onboard a 327 ft. cutter. In 1990 I moved into the private sector and began running large power and sailing charter yachts. In the past 17 years I have only commanded four yachts, an 80 footer for 3 years, 106 footer for 5 years, 114 footer for 7 years, and Missy B II for a little over 2 1/2 years. I have had the honor of winning 5 Antigua Charter Yacht show awards and 4 Boat International/US classic yacht awards. I call Fort Lauderdale my home and when I not home with my wife and 5 year old son I spend my off time sport fishing along the east coast.
Missy B II runs with a full time crew of six. The general operation of the yacht is handled by the captain, mate, and deckhand. The Service side is handled by the chef, head stewardess, and a stewardess.
First Officer Bill Ferguson
A native of Connecticut Bill has been working on boats for almost 16 years. First starting on commercial boats then later moving to Private Yachts. Commanding several Hargraves before Joining Missy B II, Bill is a valuable addition to the crew. Since acquiring his Captains license in 1998 he has cruised from Key West to Bar Harbor, Gulf of Mexico, and the Bahamas. Bill joined the vessel in August 2007 and is Missy B II’s second in
command. In his off time he plays tournament billiards and spends time with his Wife and 4 year old son
Chef Calvin Stokes
Born on the coast of Maine Calvin’s draw to the sea is only outweighed by his passion for creating some of the best food served onboard a private yacht. After earning a BA at the Culinary Institute of America Calvin returned to the sea onboard several cruise ships and in a short time found him in the executive chef position overseeing the entire galley operation. Joining the Missy B II in February 2006 Calvin has the galley running like a fine Swiss watch. Your interaction with Calvin will start days before the charter as he goes over your diet and food preferences with you and continues during the trip as any last minute changes take place. When Calvin is not in the galley you may find him fishing off the back of the yacht trying to pull up lunch.
Head Stewardess Jade Cote
Born in Kodiak, Alaska where my father
was a commercial fisherman, I have
known the sea to be my home this is
where I found my love for the ocean and
boating. Growing up I was always
fishing, camping or doing something that
involved sports or the outdoors. The best part of my job
is making the guests and the owners feel right at home.
Any requests that our quests or owners have I will be
sure to make them happen. Service and excitement is
my top priority; I want them to remember the time they
spent on the Missy B II was one of the finest times of
their lives.
Stewardess Dewi Wang
I am from California-San Jose. Missy B II is a great motor yacht and is the first
motor yacht that I’ve been employed on.
It’s a great learning experience for me and I am looking forward to experience much more with Missy B II.. In my free time I enjoy Yoga, body surfing, ballroom dancing and
meeting new people and experience different cultures.
Deckhand John Kellogg
I’ve spent the majority of my life involved in boating in some capacity. I grew up on the St. Lawrence River so most of my experience is on vessels under 60 ft. I have worked on a 90 ft. commercial landing craft used for transporting large vehicles such as cranes and dump trucks. The Missy B II is the first motor yacht that I’ve been employed on. I enjoy the different aspects of yachting and am pleased that I can incorporate them into my professional life. In my leisure time I enjoy scuba diving and wakeboarding.
