Captain John holds a 100 ton USCG Captain’s License, is an ASA certified sailor, and has been running successful charters in the Caribbean for over fifteen years. He moved to St. Thomas three years ago to manage the islands' largest power boat fleet- During his tenure he has Captained all manner of yachts through the island chain, from 25' center consoles to 38-ton custom-built vessels. When he's not setting up the perfect anchorage, John loves to break out the poker chips for a couple rounds of Texas Hold 'Em, or his favorite, two-card Guts (outlawed in 38 states). John is also a big fan of afternoon BBQ’s , and will occasionally take over the galley and serve up his famous BBQ shrimp hot off the grill. Originally from York, PA, John spent five years racing custom-built cars. He’s a Macguiver type Mr-fixit, the type of guy who can plug a whole in a dinghy with a piece of gum and some dental floss… He loves the challenges and joys that come with captaining a sailing catamaran and it shows in his always-happy disposition- Nothing rattles this Captain! John’s the active type (Fit-As-A- Fiddle), and he’ll be more than happy to show you how to kayak, teach you how to sail, take you on a hike over the hills of Norman Island, and jump in and snorkel his favorite spots with you. Professional, friendly and always up for an adventure, John is the perfect captain to guide you through your sailing vacation.
Megan has been nursing a love affair with water ever since she was small enough to fit in a baby pool. She was lured to St. Thomas three years ago by the promise of warm water year-round and has been working on charter boats ever since. An already avid surfer, Megan has developed a passion for seeking out Caribbean marine life, especially her favorites—Hawksbill turtles and Scrawled Filefish. As a PADI-certified Divemaster, Megan looks forward to spending plenty of time searching under shelves for the underwater sighting that will make your vacation. She’s a self-professed food-lover, who revels in new tastes and incorporating them into her ever-changing repertory. It was her father who taught her the art of home-cooked gourmet, but she owes her mother for the espresso brownies. She can make you an incredible steak au poivre, an equally tasty eggplant parmegana, and wow you with her specialty desserts… Also an experienced bartender, Megan makes the best margaritas in the islands and she has been told that her painkillers rival those of the Soggy Dollar. Megan is a graduate of the prestigious University of Pennsylvania where she majored in english and music. If the mood strikes her, she may pull out her guitar for an impromptu Jimmy Buffet sing-a-long. She’s also written a complete novel and is currently in the revision/editing stage. Megan has been described as “personality plus” and her goal is to make sure her guests have the best vacation experience of their lives.
John and Megan met three years ago while running an all-inclusive luxury day charter yacht out of St. Thomas, USVI. They have a 100% Customer Satisfaction Rating! Their secret is TEAMWORK and it reflects in every aspect of their lives. John and Megan have also enjoyed several minor and major celebrities on board, including American Idol's Kelly Clarkson and Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics…
Word on the beach was that Captain John dunked on Pierce and that Megan taught Kelly how to play the guitar…
